It is that time of year again…the annual Sun N Fun Fly-in & Expo is just around the corner! Only 2 weeks from now the festivities will be in full swing at Lakeland airport (KLAL) in Florida, April 9-14. This is a jam-packed week of aviation entertainment for pilots and aviation enthusiasts. There are static aircraft on display, numerous exhibitors, airshows during the afternoon…and much more! The Fraser Blue’s group consists of general aviation pilots who fly in their 50+ year old Navion aircraft that have been reconditioned. The Navion aircraft was originally designed for the civilian market; however it also attracted the interest of the US Air Force and became a popular trainer.
Amazing island airport landing
All of us during our Private Pilot training went through our “fun” maximum performance takeoffs and landings! Usually for short field landings our instructor would give us our imaginary 50ft obstacle and then after touchdown we would use short field braking techniques. As a student it’s hard to visualize the 50ft obstacle and the necessity of braking techniques as we roll out on a 5000ft runway!
In this video you will see a “real” short field landing with an obstacle on the final approach path! Juancho E. Yrausquin Airport is located on the Caribbean Island of Saba. This airport has a precarious reputation: the runway is only 1,300ft long, there are hills on the approach path when landing to the west, and cliffs on both ends of the runway!
The pilots in this video did an excellent job landing just above stalling speed and they didn’t even have to use the whole runway…maybe they have done this before?!? You too can capture your exciting landing with an Nflightcam!

Basically, anywhere there is a screw on the outside of your airplane you can replace it with the surface mount spud and attach the Nflightcam. Utilizing our spud mount you will have a wider range of filming opportunities, capturing various shots that you can not get with a camera mount that limits you to inside shots. (Please note this mount is for experimental aircraft only.)
In this weeks video we observe the pilots of a Pitts aircraft performing numerous aerobatic maneuvers…all of this footage is shot with his Nflightcam + and a spud mount. We strive to test all of our equipment to the most extreme limits.
