This is truly breathtaking! I think we have all dreamed of flying with the Blue Angels, and for most of us, this is as close as we will get. Fortunately, this is pretty close... I have been experimenting with 360 video technology for a few months now, and I am convinced it is the next step in the evolution of video experiences. These videos are created with an array of GoPros that each record individually and then the images are stitched together in software. The process is not for the faint of heart. Rest assured, we are working on a solution to make this type of video possible for all of us in the near future.
To most, the world of bush flying saw its last major innovation in the late 50's or early 60's. However, the team at Bush Plane Design has decided to change that. They have been developing a prototype bush plane over the last few years with some amazing advances in technology. As you can see from the video above, they are taking real world testing seriously. They also know how to create some pretty awesome videos to share with the rest of us.
This is pretty amazing! I had the pleasure of seeing Jetman at AirVenture 2014, and it was awesome. This view is even better. Hopefully someday we will all be mounting GoPros to our own jet-powered wings.
Unfortunately not all of us have F-18s, but flying videos are cool. That's all there is to it!
